Speaker Introduction

Our next speaker is a Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member, a Grammy Award-winner for Best Country Song, AND a New York Times bestselling author.

He’s the writer of eight #1 hit songs and 25 BMI award-winning songs, including the mega hit “Live Like You Were Dying,” recorded by Tim McGraw.

His volunteer and charitable work is as prolific as his songwriting. He’s served on the Boards for the Country Music Association, the Nashville Songwriters Association International, the High Hopes Development Center, and the TJ Martell Foundation, among many others.

His songs are so popular that they’ve accumulated more than 45 million broadcast plays. To put that into perspective, if you played those 45 million performances back-to-back-to-back, they would play continuously for 270 years. Yes, you heard that right. 270 years.

Today, he’ll share with us what chart-topping songwriters know about creativity, collaboration, and teamwork—so that we can top the charts in our industry, too.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome…. Tim Nichols!

Keynote Description:
You Belong in the Room

The world spins on ideas. Good ones. Great ones. And those that aren’t quite there yet.

But how do you take that spark of an idea and turn it into a career-making project? Or a game-changing system? Or an industry-disrupting product?

Over his decades-spanning career as one of Nashville’s most respected songwriters, Tim Nichols has learned a crucial component must be in place before the creative process even begins: no matter where you are, no matter who you’re there with, you need to believe that you belong in the room.

In this moving, eye-opening, and often hilarious keynote, Tim unveils his philosophy of what it takes for any team, anywhere, to transform their ideas and manifest their vision. You’ll discover what hit-making, award-winning songwriters know about creativity, collaboration, and teamwork—and you’ll come away with a proven method for incorporating those lessons into your work and life.

Shaped over years of writing songs for some of the most popular musical artists working today, this paradigm-shifting speech will challenge you to reimagine what it takes to foster the perfect conditions for collaboration, co-creation, and teamwork.

Whatever room you’re in, you deserve to be there. In this keynote, you’ll learn why embracing that simple truth can make all the difference.
